ecogise was contacted by Richard Young from the NZ Academy of Sport and asked to design and
build 3 portable power units for the NZ Academy of Sport to take to sporting events and in
particular the 2008 Olympic Games.
It is critical that the teams have access to power at sporting events, but they often
arrive and find there is no power supply available. These boxes are designed to power
laptops and computer equipment, cooling fans, freezers (to store ice vests that are used to
regulate body temperature) and power tools for maintenance. Each unit takes approximately
two weeks to build from start to finish including the fabrication of the box.
As alternative energy solutionists, this is just another example of what ecogise can
produce and we are very proud of the final result.
